Miska Carlberg-Paget is a 1998 magna cum laude graduate of Colorado State University. Following graduation from veterinary school, she completed an internship in equine neonatal and perinatal medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Wendy Vaala at the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in Ringoes, New Jersey.
Nearly a year as a resident in Large Animal Internal Medicine at the University of California at Davis reinforced her love for private practice, and she left the university to practice as an associate veterinarian with a busy large animal practice in east San Diego County.
In 2006, Dr. Paget established Giddy-Up Large Animal Veterinary Practice with the goal of providing a “home-town” veterinarian for the people of Ramona and its surrounding areas.
Dr. Paget enjoys all facets of large animal medicine and has particular interest in reproductive medicine and internal medicine. Providing care to the very young and the very old are her favorite endeavors. It is a rare moment when Dr. Paget is NOT surrounded by animals.
When she is not working, she and her husband, Keith are usually at the ranch with their 12 horses, 6 dogs, 4 goats, 2 pet pigs, her pet chicken (Princess Sophia) and Bubba the tortoise! Truly, animals are her life!
